Queen Camilla opts for blue on royal visit following battle with Princess Kate over hue | Royal | News
The Queen’s dresser, Jacqui Meakin, who took over from Queen Elizabeth’s dresser, Angela Kelly, was said to be quite strict over outfit colour choices, particularly on who can wear the colour blue at the same time as Camilla.
But she’s said to have eased up on the latter, as long as it’s a very different shade to the Queen’s, according to a source.
They told Express.co.uk: “The Queen is now able to choose her outfits before all the other women in the Royal Family.
“It’s part of the royal pecking order and that includes the clothes and colour.”
The source added that blue is Camilla’s favourite colour as well as Princess Kate’s, while Sophie is “quite fond of it too”.
They explained: “There was a time when Jacqui [Meakin] was a bit apprehensive to allow blue to be worn at the same time as the Queen, but she’s relaxed that now as long as the blues are very different shades.
“In the end, it all became a bit comical with all the ladies seeing the funny side.”
