Recreate Princess Kate’s look on a budget with M&S skirt

Marks and Spencer‘s recently launched midi skirt, complete with handy pockets, has been praised for its chic appearance when paired with boots. The ‘autumnal’ Checked Midi Tiered Skirt has been hailed as ‘gorgeous’ by shoppers who were also taken by its lightweight feel.

M&S declared the Checked Midi Tiered Skirt a “versatile piece” perfect for “dressed up or down” occasions. Its tiered design is lauded for offering a “flattering effect” while the elegant checked pattern ensures it maintains “a refined look”.

Princess Kate was spotted wearing a checked skirt last year that gave a similar look, and the entire outfit could be recreated with other wardrobe staples like a white turtleneck top, cream jacket and black accessories.

Although it’s not exactly the same, the M&S version is easy to style, and the dark print means it can easily be transitioned into the autumn.

The garment is described as “unlined” and boasts a “regular fit” along with a “side zip fastening”. Presently, shoppers can find sizes eight to 24 available online, with size six noted as out of stock.

Boasting a five-star rating on the Marks and Spencer website with three reviews, one shopper opined: “Lovely autumnal midi skirt, looks great with boots.”

Another review celebrated the piece, saying “lovely skirt with pockets”, noting: “This skirt is gorgeous. It’s quite light-weight but will be good with boots and tights.”, reports Birmingham Live.

They pointed out, however, that: “The description is wrong. It is not tiered but flared and the zip is at the back.”

A third reviewer extolled the virtues of the Checked Midi Tiered Skirt, saying it was “great” and continuing: “Have yet to wear it. It is a light material and I hope it will need little or no ironing. True to size and colour representation on line is accurate. It is a true midi and not just below the knee.”

For those wanting to embrace the checked pattern this season, M&S’ Jersey Checked Slim Fit Ankle Grazer Trousers are also proving a popular option for shoppers.
