Resident fuming as neighbour puts four notes on car

A man has sparked a debate after sharing how his ‘entitled’ neighbour keeps attaching complaint letters to his car’s windscreen.

He explained how his mum left a note on a neighbour’s vehicle asking them to park their car elsewhere as it was blocking her access to and from her driveway.

However, it appears this upset their neighbour as they have been fighting ‘fire with fire’ ever since.

Taking to Reddit, the man said: “Ever since my mum left a note on my neighbour’s car – around four weeks ago – asking if they could move it back as it was blocking our driveway.

“I’ve since started to get notes on my windscreen about parking on the street in front of their home. This is their fourth note, after I told them that I would continue to park based on availability as it is a public space.

“There’s limited parking in my street so I sometimes need to park in front of their home. It all depends on availability and I’ve been doing it for well over 6 months..so I don’t know…”

Their latest note reads: “Being young and able-bodied, surely it would cause you little trouble to park a few houses down the street?

“Instead, you force my mother to do so, despite the large amount of paint and grief it causes her.

“This isn’t about the law. This is about consideration, respect and care for the elderly, frail and disbaled.

“I hope your parents are treated with more respect than you are displaying.

“To be frank, your lack of regard is shameful. You should be embarrassed of yourself.”

But that’s not the only issue – as the neighbour have been using double-sided sticky tape to attach the notes. This leaves a messy residue when he tries to remove the piece of paper from his windscreen.

They added: “They’ve added more tape each time and the messages have gotten more passive aggressive (well now it’s more of a personal attack).

“I’m already having a rough month from burnout at work and this was just the icing on the cake”

After sharing his situation on Reddit, users quickly jumped in to share their thoughts on the parking drama.

One user said: “I had a neighbour like this, but I shut it down when I asked ‘why don’t you park in the street and let her park in your driveway?’

“He yelled that it was his driveway and that’s for his car. Just to note, in that neighbourhood the driveway could hold one car and my wife was in our driveway, so I used the parking spots close to our condo.”

Another user added: “Sounds like someone doesn’t let their disabled mother park in their driveway.”

A third user said: “Use the same double sided tape to put notes on their car every time they put one on your car that says, ‘Please stop putting notes on my car’.”

Thankfully, people were also on hand to tell the resident how they could remove the sticky residue that had been left behind on their vehicle.

Reassuring the Redditor, one helpful commenter recommended: “Wd40 will take that right off. Works well for those demented stickers that shops put on plates.”
