Speaking after his barnstorming victory over fierce rival Murphy, O’Sullivan Jr stated his dislike of being inside Ally Pally yet again. “The least amount of time I can spend in this venue is good for me, so if I can get in just before, get the job done and get out, that’s the best option for me,” O’Sullivan told Eurosport.

“I didn’t play since my last game, I had a day off yesterday. I think your well-being is more important [than practice]. This venue just got to me so I thought I was better off being outside getting some fresh air. I was just round the corner two hours ago well before the match, it wasn’t like I was driving in last minute.
