Russia mocks Trump over Epstein Files as President humiliated by latest release | World | News

Russian media has highlighted the immense pressure US President Donald Trump is under following the release of millions of Epstein Files documents last week.

The President is mentioned numerous times in the files, although he claimed after that the release “absolves” him of any wrongdoing.

He said: “I didn’t see it myself, but I was told by some very important people that not only does it absolve me, it’s the opposite of what people were hoping, you know, the radical Left.”

While he was mentioned more than 1,000 times, no major new allegations related to the President emerged.

Commenting on the latest release, Russian state-controlled outlets appeared to revel in the negative headlines the Epstein Files saga has caused for Trump’s administration.

Newspaper Vedomosti said: “The scandal over the latest publication of documents linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case continues to shock American society.

“US President Donald Trump, who is mentioned in them, will do everything he can to distract attention from this fact. It could prompt abrupt decision-making.”

Another Russian outlet said: “No matter how hard Trump’s team tried, the publication of the files of the billionaire paedophile (Jeffrey Epstein) tarnishes it too.”

In the US, some politicians and victims of Epstein have condemned the latest release as incomplete and called for all of the files to be released.

Mr Trump made the complete release of the Epstein Files a major vow as he ran for President in 2024.
