Sadio Mane’s young wife speaks out for first time after marrying ex-Liverpool star | Football | Sport
Sadio Mane‘s young wife, Aisha Tamba, has spoken out for the first time since their ceremony in Keur Massar this month. Tying the knot with the former Liverpool forward has guaranteed Tamba a drastic change from her previouus life in Senegal, but she insists that the wealth and fame of her new husband will not change her as a person.
Mane reportedly banks an eye-watering £650,000 a week at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. The 31-year-old signed from Bayern Munich last summer in a deal which made him team-mates with Cristiano Ronaldo.
On January 7, Mane and Tamba wedded in an Islamic arranged marriage ceremony near the Senegalese capital of Dakar. Tamba previously lived with up to 30 relatives, according to reports, and she plans to move in with her new husband later this year after completing her studies.
“I am looking forward to my new life and I know that it will be very different,” she told Mail Online through a relative. “But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me.
“This is not what I’m interested in. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith. I’m not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family.
“We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives. I am a very down to earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage. But I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane.”
“We are not interested in all the things that people associate with the life of a wealthy footballer. We are very happy that Aisha has married Sadio but it’s because he’s a humble man, not because he is rich and famous.”
Mane has scored 12 goals in 30 matches since landing in Saudi Arabia last year. He previously enjoyed spells with the likes of RB Salzburg, Southampton and Metz before racking up over a century of goals for Liverpool between 2016 and 2022.
