Scotland vs England red card leaves ITV commentator stunned | Rugby | Sport
England winger Henry Arundell was sent off in England’s Six Nations clash against Scotland in a miserable first-half at Murrayfield Stadium. Steve Borthwick’s men were 24-10 down after the first 40 minutes and things went from bad to worse when Arundell received his second yellow card.
Arundell was sin-binned inside the first nine minutes after failing to release with England 3-0 down. Just before the break, the Bath ace was shown a second yellow for wiping out Kyle Steyn.

“Wow, wow, wow. That is a real turning point in this game,” Scott Hastings said during ITV’s coverage of the game. “It was reckless, he wasn’t challenging for the ball.
“And he (referee Nika Amashukeli) is absolutely right. I was very impressed with Sione Tuipuloti, the way he spoke to the referee. The right decision was made in that case, a 20 minute red card. This game has drama written all over it.”
David Flatman added:”I don’t think you can argue that call. I quite like what you said about Tuipulotu. I quite like how he handled it because just before he said ‘I’ll take the lads away’, he said ‘that is dangerous, that is dangerous’. No argument there. Scotland were quite good against 14 a few minutes ago weren’t they?”
At half-time, during ITV’s coverage of the game, former Scotland flanker John Barclay added: “If you take it in isolation, if he hadn’t had a yellow card before it would have been a yellow card, there’s a duty of care to look after the player in the air,”
“Yes, he’s going for the ball and looking for the ball which some people might say is an excuse. You also have to have an eye on what is in front of you, and that was Kyle Steyn, who ends up landing on his back. It is the right decision, it is an unfortunate incident for Henry Arundell.”
