Majborough is set to take the spotlight on Wednesday at Cheltenham in the Champion Chase, with Sky Bet offering new customers an impressive 60/1 enhanced odds deal for him to secure a top-three finish!

Majborough is the firm odds-on favourite with the bookmakers for the main event on Day Two of the Cheltenham Festival-and it’s not hard to understand why. Jockey Mark Walsh and owner JP McManus have already tasted success at this year’s Festival, bolstering the confidence behind this Willie Mullins-trained six year old.

Majborough has claimed victory in four of his seven starts over fences and could solidify his reputation as the next chasing sensation with just eight runs in the discipline. He was a resounding winner last time out, powering home by 19 lengths from Marine Nationale at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Last year, he was a narrow third in the Arkle as the 1/2 favourite, finishing just three-quarters of a length behind the victor.

The Queen Mother Champion Chase on day two of Cheltenham could hinge on Majborough’s jumping. He boasts the best form but has made errors in the past, although he appeared much improved with cheekpieces when comfortably defeating Marine Nationale at Leopardstown.

If he jumps well, he’ll be tough to beat.

Il Etait Temps is the next best on ratings but fell last time and will run without his usual hood. L’Eau du Sud performs well fresh and won the Shloer Chase here in November, making him a reliable place contender.

Quilixios hasn’t competed for 12 months but was probably runner-up in this contest last year before unseating. Found A Fifty defeated Majborough earlier in the campaign but has found form elusive since.

The remainder, including Saint Segal, Libberty Hunter, Irish Panther, Captain Guinness, and Brookie, have considerable ground to makeup.
