Slim vs Gib result at Misfits 19 as history made and Salt Papi beats King Kenny | Boxing | Sport
AnEsonGib became the new middleweight champion and the first fighter to beat Slim Albaher after an epic eight-round contest in Qatar. Gib’s only loss going into the contest was against Jake Paul nearly five years ago.
Both men promised knockouts going into the event, and while neither delivered, fans were not left wanting for entertainment. The packed-out undercard saw Jarvis beat an injured Ben Williams, Deji TKO Dawood Savage in strange circumstances, and Salt Papi stop King Kenny.
See below for Express Sport‘s rundown of Misfits 19…
Chase De Moor bt Kelz via UD
In what could be considered one of the worst fights in influencer boxing history, neither man let his hands go, but De Moor did enough to edge it. He became the heavyweight champion in the process, but he can hardly be displaying that belt on his mantelpiece with any pride.
Kelz, fighting for just the second time, can come again but was far too hesitant over the six rounds.
Luis Pineda bt Swarmz via UD
Luis Pineda had to work hard against Swarmz, ultimately securing a points win after three rounds. Both men, who faced KSI on the same night in 2022 and have since carved out careers in influencer boxing, put up a fight.
However, Swarmz struggled to land a punch on the Mexican boxer, leading all three judges to favour Pineda.
Amir Anderson bt Neeraj via TKO
Despite having fought 12 times prior to his bout with Anderson, Neeraj was down in the first round but managed to make it to the end. The second round didn’t last long, with an uppercut initiating the final sequence before the referee intervened.
Lil CraCra bt YuddyGangTV via UD
Lil CraCra started the faster of the two fighters, and despite YuddyGangTV staging a fightback in the third round, it was not enough to change the momentum of the fight. Lil CraCra was sharper and he landed more punches to seal a comfortable victory.
Warren Spencer bt NichLmao via UD
Last-minute replacement Warren Spencer sprung a surprise by beating NichLmao, who went in as a strong favourite. It was tight, and NichLmao looked surprised by the end result, but Spencer upset the odds and performed better than many expected in a slower-paced bout than others on the night.
Jarvis bt Ben Williams via TKO
Ben Williams came racing out of the blocks but Jarvis turned things around in Round 3, upping the pressure and putting him on the canvas. Williams appeared to hurt his ankle and had to be carried out of the ring, meaning Jarvis retained his welterweight belt.
Deji bt Dawood Savage via TKO
The decisive right-hand punch was a strange one, with Dawood Savage falling to the ground seemingly out of nowhere. But Deji put his punching power to good use and dug himself out of a sticky situation with the third-round stoppage.
Salt Papi bt King Kenny via TKO
King Kenny’s legs went after a well-timed uppercut from Salt Papi in the third round. He tried to get back to his feet but the referee made a wise decision in stopping the fight.
AnEsonGib bt Slim Albaher via MD
Both fighters went into the eighth and final round battered and bruised but Gib had a bit more left in the tank. It was a tight one to score but the judges gave it to Gib, making him the new middleweight champion and the fighter to spoil Slim’s undefeated record.
