Ronnie O’Sullivan has taken the first frame of the 2026 World Open final.

It was a cagey affair to get us underway, with some exceptional safety early in the frame.

Both players made superb snookers behind the brown ball, before O’Sullivan nailed a long and testing red.

He does his best to develop a difficult table and builds a frame-winning break of 73.

That was not easy by any means and reminiscent of the Rocket at his very best, which he needed to be to ensure Thepchaiya Un-Nooh wouldn’t return to the table.
