Stacey Solomon’s ‘incredible’ way of using 2 items you’d normally throw away

Autumn has arrived, and it’s time to transform our homes into eerie havens in preparation for Halloween. Supermarkets and homeware shops are brimming with appropriate decorations, but the cost can quickly escalate as you add more items to your trolley. Instead, why not try crafting your own decorations? It’s a fun activity for the entire family and can save you a bit of money.

TV presenter and mother-of-five Stacey Solomon is always a reliable source for unique craft ideas. The former X Factor contestant enjoys sharing her cleaning tips, recipes, and craft projects on her Instagram account, where she has amassed over six million followers.

The host of Sort Your Life Out left her fans astounded with her incredible homemade Hogwarts Castle. Stacey’s daughter Rose is a big fan of all things Harry Potter, and for her fourth birthday, she wanted to create a spooky Hogwarts theme at home, including a Hogwarts Castle.

Stacey detailed how she managed to acquire an old dolls house for free from a marketplace. She transformed it from a simple, cream-coloured house into a stunning castle using something you might have thrown in the bin.

Stacey, in her quest to create the iconic Hogwarts castle turrets, ingeniously utilised some items she would have normally thrown away. She repurposed two cylindrical snack boxes and a number of cardboard cones, which can be fashioned from toilet rolls.

After gluing these together, she spray painted them white, along with the doll house. To achieve an aged building look and a snow effect, she then applied a layer of brown spray paint over the house and the turrets. Subsequently, she embellished the house with fake moss and installed string lights inside to illuminate it.

Stacey shared: “Trying to turn a free marketplace dolls house into Hogwarts for Rose’s birthday. I’ve finished the outside so me and rose can decorate the inside together.

“I want to make different iconic scenes from the films. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have six rooms to fill. Anyway, I’m so happy with it so far seeing as how it started. And I can’t wait to decorate the rest with my Rose.”

One admirer praised: “I love how creative you are! That’s brilliant.”

Another exclaimed: “Oh my god Stacey… That is incredible.”

One fan hailed Stacey as “super talented”. Another commented: “Wow, it looks magical. She’s going to love it.”

Podcast host and former Apprentice star Luisa Zissman chimed in and said: “This is wonderful! I made a dolls house for Dixie’s sixth birthday! Using an online kit took me days. Nine years later it’s still going strong and Indi LOVES playing with it.”

Stacey posted another snap of the stunning arrangement for Rose’s special day. The little lass dressed up as Harry, and mum Stacey fashioned a spooky setting on her dining table, complete with a Harry Potter-themed cake.

Rose, the elder of Stacey’s two daughters, shares her birthday with her mum. The duo also had a fun-filled day out in London, visiting Hamley’s toy shop, having lunch, and spending the night in a hotel for their combined celebration.
