Stop getting stains on white shirt collar with simple 89p beauty trick

A crisp white shirt always looks super smart, but unfortunately they can easily get stained with food, drinks, make-up, fake tan, sweat marks, and more.

Thankfully, one genius trick could help stop those pesky marks ruining your shirts before you wear them.

Jade, who owns fashion brand Holland and Cooper – often worn by the likes of Kate Middleton, Zara Tindall, Amanada Holden, Idiris Elba, and Georgia Toffolo, is always sharing her fashion tips and tricks online. Jade, who loves all things chic, often weares a white shirt day-to-day.

While she may be able to afford dry cleaning bills every week, thanks to her company’s net worth of over £30million, Jade insists that she simply uses a cheap beauty trick to stop her shirts getting marked.

Jade believes preparing your shirts before going out is key. The mum-of-two, who boasts over 15,000 followers on TikTok, says she no longer gets makeup on her shirts thanks to the trick.

In a video, shared on her TikTok page, Jade said: “The ultimate life hack… I use this every single day — no more makeup transfer on your white shirts. It’s simple but game-changing. Hope this helps!”

Jade uses hairspray – she uses L’oreal’s Elnett. She added: “Don’t want to get tan or makeup on your white shirt? All you do is get some hairspray. Spray it inside and the collar of the shirt.

“Doesn’t have to be too heavy duty, let it dry for a minute, and that is the answer to making sure that you don’t get makeup transfer on the inside or tan transfer on the inside of your white shirt.”

The successful fashion designer also said that the trick works well on the cuffs of a shirt too. “This is brilliant,” one commented on the video. She also said using hairspray does not make your clothing feel sticky, as some may assume.

Another wote: “Great tip! This might also work against suncream stains. I’m going to try.” “Fab hack, thank you, I will try,” said another. “I never knew this,” commented one other.

“Excellent tip Jade,” agreed another. “Great tip, every day is a school day, thanks,” commented another who was impressed by the method.

“Omg, you legend, thank you,” added one other. Some said they have known about the trick for a while as one said, “this trick is as old as myself”. Another said: “Been doing it for years.”

Hairspray can be bought for as little as 89p at Savers, so as well as being handy, this tip also won’t break the bank.
