Tennis star claims men ‘intimidated’ by her as she struggles to find a boyfriend | Tennis | Sport
During an appearance on the Nothing Major podcast, Collins suggested that dating is much easier for successful men than it is for successful women because potential partners can be ‘intimidated’ by them.
“I feel like when you’re successful as a guy, the amount of people that flock to you is like infinite,” she said. “You have a lot more options when you’re successful as a guy.
“But as a woman, when you start to become more successful, it narrows down the dating pool by a lot. And I feel like men can feel intimidated sometimes by successful chicks. I don’t know why that is, but, I feel that’s definitely valid for me and a lot of my friends.”
Collins added that her travel requirements would make it difficult to hold down a long-term relationship with somebody who doesn’t understand the reality of playing professional tennis.
“I think it takes a special person to date a professional tennis player, male or female, just because we travel so much and our lives revolve around our careers,” she explained.
“Every aspect, from when we go to bed to what we eat, training, all of the logistics that go into it. So, you really have to be with someone who’s selfless in that way.
“We have a short window to accomplish what we want to accomplish. It takes a really big sacrifice from people that any of us date.”
Collins shared her dating profile on Instagram earlier this month, with her bio reading: “Currently a professional tennis player, but kind of aspiring to be a trad wife. Straight up. Already had my boss babe era.
“Just wanting to raise my chickens, do home projects, make freshly baked sourdough, be a stay at home dog mom, and hopefully pop out some babies soon. If you’re going to lie about your height just leave me the f*** alone. This is a no short kings zone.”
After one brave individual reached out to Collins with a private message, she wrote: “I’ll tell you what… if anyone has the balls to slide into my DMs like this just make sure to attach your most recent bank statement while you’re at it.”
