Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and FOX Sports pundit Terry Bradshaw left his broadcasting colleagues gobsmacked after revealing his attempts to contact Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. FOX dedicated portions of their airtime to discussing Monday Night Football, which will witness the Chiefs host the Washington Commanders at Arrowhead.
After a patchy beginning to their campaign, the Chiefs (4-3) appear poised to hit form at the crucial moment, with Kansas City recently welcoming back wide receiver Rashee Rice to their squad following his suspension. Meanwhile, Washington enters the clash at 3-4 and will be missing quarterback Jayden Daniels.
However, in bizarre fashion, FOX’s breakdown of the encounter between the Commanders and Chiefs descended into a discussion about how Bradshaw had attempted to reach Reid prior to the match at Arrowhead, only to discover himself receiving a response from “some guy selling pigs.”
After delivering his initial assessment of the fixture, Bradshaw remarked: “But the thing that I would worry about more so in Washington is, the other day, I texted Andy Reid, and I got a text back, and I thought it was Andy Reid but it was some guy selling pigs.
“It sounded good, I shouldn’t have told y’all that so y’all would have thought that I actually talked to Andy Reid.”
Bradshaw’s unexpected tangent left his fellow FOX broadcasters, host Curt Menefee and former NFL stars Howie Long and Michael Strahan, completely taken aback.
“I wish you could see the people behind the cameras because they’re like [stunned],” Long commented. Social media users also joined in with their opinions.
One posted on X: “Terry has been must see tv this year.”
Another chimed in: “For all the c*** people give him, you can’t break down a game better than Terry Bradshaw does here.”
A third observed: “Look at Michael Strahan‘s reaction to Terry Bradshaw at the very end.”
While the Chiefs won’t be facing Daniels on Monday night, Reid informed journalists on Thursday that he anticipates the Commanders will present a significant challenge for his team. “We know they’re a good football team, a veteran group of players that are good football players,” Reid stated.
“And they’ve got a head coach that I consider right at the top of his profession at this time. He’s as good as anybody, and then he’s got good coordinators there. Offensively, defensively, special teams, they’ve got explosive players.
“They’ve got good guys up front on both sides of the ball.”
