The world’s most dangerous animal – it’s not a shark, a snake, or a spider | World | News
Planet earth is full of dangerous critters capable of taking human life, but some creatures are far more threatening than others.
Sharks carry a reputation for violence, with the ability to approach by stealth and inflict devastating damage using their razor sharp teeth.
Lions, the king’s of the jungle, are exceptionally dangerous apex predators. The imposing beasts dominate rural Africa and are capable of ripping people to shreds.
Although they’re much smaller, spiders also spark fear among millions of people. Many spiders carry deadly venom that can cause agonising deaths.
However, none of these animals are the world’s most dangerous. The most deadly creature kills far more than sharks, lions and spiders combined.
The mosquito is far and away the world’s deadliest killer. According to the BBC, mosquitos kill around 725,000 people every year.
Mosquitos carry malaria and passing the disease on is how they kill. The tiny creatures are most dangerous in Africa, where most cases of malaria are found.
In fact, a staggering 95 percent of global malaria cases are found on the continent.
Snakes are actually the third most deadly creature, after humans in second, according to the BBC. Human beings kill 400,000 people a year, while snakes take the lives of around 138,000.
The most typical human deaths from snakes come after venomous bites. According to the WHO, thousands of others suffer amputations and “other permanent disabilities” following exposure to venom.
Black mambas can kill a people with just two drops of venom, while pythons can swallow a fully grown adults whole.
