Tiger Woods had ‘back against the wall’ over fear at children’s school | Golf | Sport
Tiger Woods seemingly went public about his relationship with Vanessa Trump amid fears the news would reach his children’s school. After ample speculation, on Sunday, the 15-time major champion took to social media to post pictures of himself with the US President’s former daughter-in-law.
He captioned the images: “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”
It’s not the first time the private life of the 49-year-old has been in the media spotlight. His marriage to Swedish model Elin Nordegren fell apart in 2009 after his infidelities and extramarital affairs were exposed, with the American later admitting himself into a sex addiction rehab clinic.
The pair have two children together, daughter Sam Alexis, 17, and son Charlie, 15. In a family affair, Sam caddied for Charlie and his famous father at the PNC Championship in Florida in December.
According to the Daily Mail, the fear of his children being subjected to speculative comments and photos forced Woods to reveal his latest love interest. A former employee of the all-time great was quoted as saying that he reluctantly disclosed the news.
“He has never been one to really share things until he absolutely had to,” he said. “But once things are found out, he doesn’t really have a choice. It’s either post a couple pictures on Instagram now, or let one of the other parents at the school take a picture at an event and post it.”
The children of Woods and Vanessa’s daughter Kai reportedly attend The Benjamin School in Florida together. Kai, 17, is also a competitive golfer and won the 2024 Ladies Club Championship at Trump International Palm Beach last year.
Vanessa Trump, 47, was married to Donald Trump Jr for 13 years. The pair, who have five children together, divorced in 2018 but she has continued to use her marital name.
