Top 3 UK cities where people mostly win the EuroMillions
WDW Bingo has identified three UK cities that are considered to be lottery-winning hotspots. To compile the data, WDW Bingo created a “jackpot score” out of 100 that was based on two factors.
One component was the number of lottery players who have historically won over £1million when choosing their lucky numbers. And the other element was the number of people who have won over £50,000 from playing the game. Also featured in the analysis was how many people look up the lottery wins online.
Combining this all together, the team positioned Glasgow as the third luckiest lottery-winning area.
Per 100,000 residents in Glasgow, around 12% have won more than a million pounds on the lottery.
In the same cohort, the data suggests that over 71% have lucked out by winning £50,000.
Another supposedly lucky location is the city of Portsmouth where more than 13% of 100,000 residents have won more than £1million on the lottery.
And coming in as the number one destination for those hoping to win some big bucks is the city of Newcastle.
Newcastle holds the record for the highest number of people who have won more than £50,000 on a lottery ticket.
Harrison Score, Head of WDW Bingo, commented on the findings. “When it comes to the lottery, it’s clear that some places have a winning track record,” he said.
“Our analysis shows that factors like a high number of jackpot winners and an enthusiastic community that regularly checks for results all contribute to a city’s luck.
“This study isn’t just about who has won the most; it’s about a city’s collective spirit and hope for a big win.”
