The pitchforks are out for Igor Tudor. The interim Tottenham manager has been in charge for just four games and yet there is a possibility that Spurs sack him and find another head coach for the remainder of the season. They have one foot out of the Champions League, following a 5-2 first-leg defeat to Atletico Madrid, where goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky was brutally substituted off after 17 minutes.
The European disappointment followed defeats by London rivals Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace, leaving Spurs just one point above the Premier League relegation zone. They may take drastic action and employ someone else to lead them for the remainder of the campaign, knowing that their top-flight status is on the line. Here, Express Sport has taken a look at who could step in today…
Spurs need a top-class operator and more than likely, require them to be available right now. A trip to Anfield is just days away and no game can be written off right now, with only nine league fixtures remaining. Roberto De Zerbi is out of work after leaving Marseille and may be the most talented manager on the market.
The former Brighton boss comes with fire and combativeness, but he may bring the exact passion that is needed to rescue Spurs from what could be a season that goes down in the history books – for all the wrong reasons. He has Premier League pedigree and can make an immediate impact.
Former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane has been pulling up trees at Hungarian giants Ferencvarosi and was linked with the job when Thomas Frank left. However, he reportedly did not want an interim position and was not willing to gamble away what he has at his current club for a short-term role.
But if Spurs offer Keane the opportunity to keep them in the league, and the promise of a long-term contract, it may be enough to persuade the promising coach.
If they are relegated, who better than Keane to guide them back up? And if he steers the club away from relegation, there would be little reason not to keep the Irishman on anyway.

When you are in a relegation dogfight, you cannot turn your nose up at a specialist. Sean Dyche was sacked by Nottingham Forest last month, a decision he has admitted surprised him, but he famously knows how to keep clubs in the Premier League.
He did so at Burnley for years on a shoestring budget, then stabilised Everton, and now Spurs may require his expertise.
Dyche can coach a defence and Spurs are in dire need of help at the back, with several calamities in their mauling by Atletico very clear evidence of that. Just a few clean sheets could secure survival and there are few better at scraping results than Dyche.
Rescue the club you love and then pop back to the United States and lead them at the World Cup?
Mauricio Pochettino has repeatedly said that he is not interested in taking charge in north London again until this summer’s international tournament is over.
But without him, there may not be a chance to return for next season, at least not in the Premier League.
Pochettino, who was at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium to witness Spurs’ humiliation first-hand, could cement his status as a club legend if he pulls them from the pits of relegation and restores them to their former glory.
