Liverpool have decided that they will offer more for Hugo Ekitike than Newcastle United did earlier this week, according to Sky Germany.

The Magpies have seen a £69.3million proposal turned down by Eintracht Frankfurt.

And Liverpool have since entered the race, with the Reds threatening to nab Ekitike from under Newcastle‘s noses unless the Toon are willing to sell them Alexander Isak.

Frankfurt have reportedly been informed that Liverpool are prepared to up the stakes, increasing the likelihood that they will hold out for a bidding war.
