Turkey earthquake LIVE: Istanbul rocked by 6.2 magnitude tremor as 3 o | World | News
A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has been recorded on the outskirts of Istanbul in Turkey – with three other countries also affected by the huge tremor. The quake hit 73km (45 miles) from the city, also rocking Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania. It was at a depth of 10km (6.21 miles), according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).
There have been no reports of casualties, damage to buildings, or tsunami warnings, but there have been reports of six aftershocks. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) added that little or no landsliding is expected, but some landslides could have occurred in highly susceptible areas.
