A beautiful coastline in Turkey that boasts stunning beaches, high-end resorts, world-class marinas, and vibrant nightlife is just like Saint-Tropez in France—but at a more affordable price.
Bodrum, called the “St. Tropez of Turkey” by the Telegraph, is a luxurious seaside destination on the Aegean coast and is one of the popular spots across the Turkish coastline.
It also happens to be one of the most popular European destinations with Brits.
Turkey’s Turquoise Coast offers a similar experience to the French Riviera but without spending huge money.
The breathtaking stretch of coastline along the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas boasts luxurious resorts, stunning beaches, ancient ruins, and world-class marinas.
The Turquoise Coast features pristine beaches, hidden coves, and vibrant blue seas, much like the French Riviera.
The coastal destination has exclusive beach clubs like Buddha-Bar Beach, Maçakızı, and Lujo’s Indigo Beach Club offer champagne-fueled parties, live DJs, and sun-soaked lounging—similar to Nikki Beach in St. Tropez.
Yalıkavak Marina is one of the top marinas in the world. It attracts superyachts, celebrities, and international jet-setters and is a must-visit for travellers.
A luxury hotel per night in Bodrum would come between £242- £565, while at St. Tropez, it may cost around £1.2k
Similarly, a fine dining meal for two may vary between £80 to £161 in Bodrum and over £400 in the French Riviera.
Bodrum is also home to Michelin-starred restaurants, fine dining spots like Nusr-Et, Zuma, and Orfoz, and beachfront cocktail lounges.
The winter holiday destination has been appreciated by many tourists who have been manage to pay a visit.
One of the users commented on TripAdvisor travel forum: “Not so well known in the US, this is a popular tourist area for Europe, and far less crowded than the French Riviera.
“The region stretches through two provinces, Antalya and Mugla, essentially from Izmir on the western Aegean coastline of Turkey to Antalya area on the southern Mediterranean coast.
“There are many, many places to visit, including roman ruins,charming small towns, and beautiful natural coves. One of hte highlights is to do the “Blue Cruise” on a gulet (the 2 to 3-masted schooners that play the southern coastline).”
A second user agreed and wrote: “Our recent Riviera trip to Istanbul, Ephasus, Troy, Pergammon, Gallipoli was everything their brochure said it would be and wellworth the money.
“Our tour guide Ahmed (aka my friends give me your ears) extremely knowledgable and Riviera tour manager, Noel (aka Herr Click) again very knowledgeable.
“It was never too much trouble for either of them to give help, impart more knowledge as we were into the trip. The 3 hotels used were excellent the last one in Istanbul very quirky.”
