TV fans say HBO show is ‘most addictive ever’ – not Game of Thrones | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

TV fans have heaped praise on an “intense” and “gripping” series they’re urging people to watch “right now” – and it’s not top favourites like the commonly recommended Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad.

There’s a host of commercially and critically acclaimed television shows available across multiple streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, NOW, Paramount Plus and, more recently in the UK, HBO Max.

One series, which came out in 2025, has been lauded by a telly-loving fan who’s implored people to tune in as soon as possible.

The fan in question is Luke Ecclestone, who posts content online as Eccy Reviews. He’s amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on social media where he shares his opinions and insights on a range of films and television programmes.

In a recent video posted to TikTok, he lauded “one of the best shows you will ever watch”. So, which TV series has garnered such praise? The Pitt, a medical drama which has earned an impressive 97% score on hit review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Set at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, the show follows emergency department staff tackling the crises and dramas that occur over the course of a 15 hour work shift on the high intensity ward. Each episode covers around one hour of the shift.

On TikTok, Eccy described The Pitt as “one of the best shows you will ever watch” and stressed it’s “now available” on HBO Max. He said: “You can’t waste any more time and you need to see it right now.”

He continued: “So, HBO Max has just dropped in the UK, however it has been everywhere else for months and now, you can go and watch The Pitt and I couldn’t recommend this show enough.

“This is one of the most intense medical dramas you will ever come across, ever, in your life as each episode follows one hour of a day in this hospital.

“It is one of the most intense shows you’re ever going to come across. The performances are unbelievable, the medical drama-side of it is so intense, so gripping, and honest to God, I actually just can’t recommend this show enough.”

He added: “It is one of the highest rated shows. Everyone’s been talking about it for years, literally. So go and watch it, get it on your watch list.”

In the comments section, fellow TikTok users were keen to share their thoughts. One person said: “It’s the best medical show ever.”
