A two-year-old snooker sensation has already bagged a pair of Guinness World Record titles. Jude Owens, who can barely see over the table, has become the youngest individual to execute two trick shots. The Manchester youngster recently etched his name in history by completing a pool bank shot and a snooker double pot.

His proud father Luke recalled: “I think I realised once he put the cue through his fingers and it was dead natural the way he did it.” The pint-sized prodigy is also among the youngest dual record holders ever and appears destined for a sparkling future. Discussing how Jude manages the table’s height, Luke explained: “At first it was really difficult. We used to have to use bar stools from anywhere that we went.”

“But we ended up sourcing a stool which we mainly used for cooking at first, but then we utilised it into him using it for snooker shots.”

The delighted dad continued: “I think for me, Jude’s achieved quite a lot in such a short space of time. But for him to achieve not just one, but two world records, it’s probably the pinnacle moment. How do you even beat that in life?

“I started playing when I was 10 and obviously Jude started playing when he was two. But I’d say Jude’s got a lot more natural ability than myself.”

Jude, whose favourite player is Ronnie O’Sullivan, has also amassed thousands of devoted followers online who watch his videos. When quizzed about his preferred shot, the Manchester United supporter declared: “A trick shot.”

At the tender age of two years and 261 days, young Jude accomplished a snooker double pot, followed by a pool bank shot just two weeks later.

Craig Glenday, the editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, expressed his admiration: “Record-breaking has always belonged to everyone – regardless of age. To see someone as young as Jude display such skill, enthusiasm and determination is incredibly special.”
