Astonishing pictures and video of an Amazon tribe cut off from human civilisation have been released. American conservationist Paul Rosalie shared the “world first” HD footage on Lex Fridman’s podcast. He explained how all previous sightings of remote tribes have come from “blurry images from someone’s cell phone from 100 metres away”.
The footage showed Paul and other explorersrunning to a riverbank, where approximately a dozen tribe members emerge in a cloud of butterflies, displaying caution as they weigh up the new arrivals and brandish weapons. They appeared ready for violence before slowly relaxing and realising they posed no threat. Paul is set to release a book, Junglekepers, about the experience and his non-profit organisation of the same name.
The footage was filmed more than a year ago, but the exact location of the tribe has been withheld to avoid any contact. Junglekeepers explained they have no immunity to common diseases, so contact could be “fatal”. The astonishing pictures from Paul, who posts about his adventures on Instagram, can be seen below.
