Unseen Elvis concert footage film from Baz Luhrmann gets thrilling trailer | Films | Entertainment
Following his 2022 move biopic Elvis, Baz Luhrmann has been hard at work on his next film about the King of Rock and Roll.
Warner Bros has given the filmmaker unprecedented access to a ton of unused footage from classic Elvis Presley documentaries.
These include the 1970 Las Vegas residency concert movie Elvis: That’s The Way It Is and 1972 concert road film, Elvis on Tour.
The filmmaker unearthed the unseen negatives when Warner Bros allowed him to dive into their underground salt mine vaults in Kansas while he was researching his biopic.
Also among the treasure trove was rare behind-the-scenes audio that had been feared lost, including recordings of Elvis telling stories about his life.
Restored and remastered, Baz says it’s not quite a documentary, not quite a concert movie, but promises it’s Elvis Presley like never before.
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is in IMAX from February 20 and cinemas from February 27.
