Over the past couple of weeks, several food items have been urgently recalled, with shoppers warned not to eat them. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a string of food and allergy alerts for a range of different products sold at supermarkets all over the UK.
Food items are often recalled due to label misprints, which could pose a risk for anyone with allergies or intolerances. Other things like foreign bodies or the presence of harmful bacteria are also reasons for recall. Here’s a list of all the major food recalls in February you need to know about, with products like oven chips, desserts and snacks all affected.

Co-op Irresistible Triple Cook Thick Cut Chunky Chips
Co-op is recalling Co-op Irresistible Triple Cook Thick Cut Chunky Chips because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. The product has been incorrectly packed with Dauphinoise potatoes.

If you’ve bought this product and you have an allergy to milk, don’t eat it. Instead return it to your nearest Co-op for a refund or a replacement, subject to availability.

Farmfoods Ritz Cheese Sandwich
Farmfoods is recalling Ritz Cheese Sandwich product because it contains milk, soya and wheat, which are not emphasised on the label. This recall only affects products originating from Indonesia, and does not affect products coming from other countries.

This recall is specific to England and Wales only. If you’ve purchased this product and have an allergy to any of the allergens listed, don’t consume it, and return to the store you bought it for a full refund – no receipt required.
