US military launches devastating strike on ship in Caribbean as ‘narco-terrorists’ killed | World | News

The operation was ordered by General Francis L. Donovan, head of United States Southern Command. US Southern Command stated on social media that intelligence indicated the boat “was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations”. A video shared alongside the post showed an aerial view of the boat engulfed in flames on the water.

Within seconds of the video, the vessel erupts into flames and smoke spreads across the water as the boat burns. Clips released by the command show a single precision strike hitting the boat.

Three male narco-terrorists were killed in the strike. No US military personnel were injured.

President Donald Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth claim that Operation Southern Spear is designed to disrupt cartel operations and stop drugs from reaching the U.S. border.

The aim of Southern Spear is to disrupt drug trafficking networks and “narco‑terrorist” organizations before their illegal shipments reach the U.S. and to protect the homeland from the harm caused by illicit drug flows.

A spokesperson for the United States Southern Command said: “On Feb. 23, at the direction of the commander of U.S. Southern Command, Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. 

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. 

“Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed.”
