Vinted seller’s genius tip to ‘guarantee’ last minute sales | UK | News
A mum-of-two shared a Vinted tip that helped her make extra cash and cut down on trips to the post office. All it took was five minutes of work and a bit of luck.
People around the world are listing their old clothes, tech and other items on the app, which grants items gathering dust and destined for the bin a new lease of life. Some have managed to earn hundreds or even thousands of pounds simply by decluttering their home.
Nicole Heaton shared the tip on TikTok page with 39,000 followers as she prepared to make another parcel run. She said: “I always use the technique.
“If I’m doing a parcel run, I’ll take note of the items that haven’t sold, go to my notifications and look at who has favourited the items. I will literally copy and paste a message to everyone who has favourited an item.”
The savvy mum explained how she’ll give the potential buyer a reminder and make an offer to include any purchases in her next parcel run, meaning they’ll get it delivered to their door soon after.
She said: “I guarantee you that, if you have like five or six people who have liked the item, someone will buy it. That means you only have to do one post run with all of your stuff, you get a few extra parcels sold and sorted. It just saves time and obvoiusly sells your items faster.”
The technique seemed to divide opinions in the comments section. Some people said they’d start giving it a go with their items while others said getting an out-of-the-blue message would put them off.
A fellow Vinted seller claimed: “It has worked so much for me and I’ve managed to sell loads! I can see it’s annoying but why hate!” Another said: ” I’ve been doing this for ages and can confirm its shifted some items!”
Commenting on the clip, a third person wrote: “I usually unfollow the items when I get begging messages!” Someone else said: “People do this pretty much as soon as you’ve favorited something and it puts me off.”
Vinted has a variety of tips on its own website to give sellers advice about speeding up the process and gain some interest in their items. This includes building up your profile and looking at offering bundles to make the deal more worthwhile to potential customers.
