Vladimir Putin goes fangirl over Elon Musk in Carlson interview: ‘No stopping him’ | World | News

Vladimir Putin praised Elon Musk as a “smart man” and issued warnings about Elon Musk during his two-hour interview with Tucker Carlson on Thursday.

Putin said there was “no stopping” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO because “he will do as he sees fit,” following reports that Musk succesfully implanated a chip into the human brain for the first time.

Last month, Musk announced on X that his company Neuralink has implanted its brain-computer interface into a human who is “recovering well,” with initial results detecting a “promising neuron spike.”

Putin told Carlson: “There are already reports Elon Musk already had a chip implanted in the human brain in the US.”

Carlson then asked: “What do you think of that?”

Putin answered: “I think there’s no stopping Elon Musk. He will do as he sees fit. Nevertheless you need to find some common ground with him, search for ways to persuade him.”

“He’s a smart person. I truly believe he is. So you’ll need to reach an agreement with him because this process [brain implants] needs to be formalised, and subjected to certain rules.”

When asked by Carlson about the possibility of creating an artificial intelligence empire, Putin responded by saying: “Mankind is currently facing many threats due to the genetic researchers, it is now possible to create this superhuman. A specialized human being. A genetically engineered athlete, scientist, military man.”
