Woman opens fortune cookie and something amazing happens

When a woman lost her pet cat, she was too devastated to do day-to-day tasks like cooking.

So while grieving the loss of her moggy Ella, she decided to get a takeaway. What she didn’t anticipate was that the meal would end up changing her life forever.

The animal lover said: “After Ella passed away, we ordered Chinese food and opened our fortune cookies. One said, ‘Little acorns lead to mighty oaks.’ I’ve kept it on our record cabinet since, not thinking much of it.”

However, the significance of that fortune soon became clear a few days later.

In a Facebook post, the cat owner revealed: “I happened to look at the Richmond SPCA website when I saw they had a cat named Acorn available for adoption. Immediately, I grabbed the fortune cookie paper and felt it was a sign. They didn’t even have a photo of her yet, but my husband said we should go meet her.”

When the pair went to see baby Acorn, they were told that she “could be spicy” but she knew that not everything is as it seems when a cat is in a shelter.

She wrote: “She was trapped on October 1st, which was around the time we had made the tough decision about Ella.

“It felt as if Ella was leading us to her. Similarly to when we were adopting Ella, it felt like a match. Some may recall Ella’s adoption story and how I hadn’t felt a connection with a cat until I met Ella – meeting Acorn was similar to that”.

She was posting from Ella’s account, so she said she wouldn’t be doing that in the future, unless it “felt right,” but she wrote: “I’d like to keep this account going with Ella memories and the future cats we plan to foster once Acorn is fully comfortable in our home”.

Heartwarmingly, she then penned: “Welcome home Acorn”.

If you’re a cat lover, you’re likely struggling to read the page now because it’s a very emotional story.

In the comments section, one Facebook user admitted: “This made me tear up! No such thing as coincidence.”

Another said: “Such a beautiful ‘Gotcha!’ story. I don’t know how the universe works, but I agree that Ella and Acorn are somehow in cahoots to fill the hole in your hearts. Maybe they also know a Siamese mouser in a fortune cookie factory somewhere that helped pull off their surprise. Hello & Welcome to Acorn, the littlest mighty oak”.

A third penned: “I truly believe Ella guided you to Acorn. I’m always one to not rush out and replace a pet to fill a void. It’s tough, but I want the animal to make its way to me if that makes sense. This seems like it was meant to be!”

Meanwhile, another woman shared a similar, gorgeous story. Sh wrote: “My cat passed away unexpectedly from a heart condition on August 26, 2021. A few months later, I brought home my current cat. Her birthday was listed as August 26, 2021. I like to think he sent her to me”.
