Woman uses oven cleaner and is horrified by discovery

Over time, grease, food splatters, and grime can build up on the glass of your oven door, making it look dirty and affecting visibility inside the oven.

Some people have tinted doors on their ovens, which helps keep heat in, but can make it difficult to see just how filthy their appliance is. One woman thought she had one of these stylish oven doors — only to realise her mistake while filming a review.

Rachel, who posts online as @freerange.rachel, is known for posting her home and lifestyle tips online. Recently, the Kentucky resident was testing a new steam oven cleaner to film a video for social media — but the result wasn’t what she expected.

Before testing the item, she assumed she had a tinted door on her oven. But halfway through the cleaning, she realised the “tint” was actually built-up dirt on the inside of the glass.

“When you start to film a review of a steam cleaner on your tinted oven door,” she wrote in the clip, which has gained more than 93,000 likes. In the caption, she promised fans she would post her full review “when she recovers” from the shock.

She filmed herself looking astonished, before turning the camera around to face her open oven door. Fans could see half of the glass was completely clean and clear, while the other was covered in grease build-up.

TikTok users were left cackling with laughter at her error as they took to the comments fearing for their own ovens. One user said: “The way my jaw COLLAPSED.”

Another commented: “And that’s a whole different level of trauma to process,” while a third wrote: “How could you think THAT was a tinted glass?” Someone else added: “I don’t even need the review girl take my money.”

Steam oven cleaners use high-temperature steam to loosen grease, grime, and food residue, making it easier to wipe clean. Cleaning the glass on your oven door is an essential part of maintaining a clean and functional kitchen. A clear oven door not only improves the look of your appliance but also ensures you can easily monitor your food while cooking.
