You’re applying serum wrong – mistake makes hair greasy
We all strive to make our hair look shiny and sleek, but there’s a common beauty blunder many of us are guilty of.
Hair stylist Matt, known on TikTok as mattloveshair, frequently shares tips and tricks for better hair care. He recently disclosed that a routine habit could be making our hair greasy, particularly when it comes to using hair serum.
It seems a lot of us have been applying it incorrectly. Matt advises against putting the serum directly onto your hands and then into your hair, warning that the method will lead you to believe the serum is causing greasiness.
He explained: “You need to break the product down til it’s so thin on your palms – like literally – watch me rub and rub and rub. I want it to be like shiny and clear on my palms. Slowly just hit the ends mostly.”
In a nutshell, you must work the product thoroughly before application. Simply slapping it on can result in hair that appears unwashed.
Since posting his video, it has racked up more than180,000 likes, with viewers chiming in with their thoughts. His followers suggested that such crucial advice should be included on product packaging.
One user remarked: “It works better on damp hair, after showering.” Another confessed: “Omg – I never did this.” A third lamented: “I don’t know how to do anything right.”
Meanwhile, another shared a success story, writing: “Did this technique when applying my final hair serum. My curls have been the softest.”
