Arteta’s men have occupied top spot for the majority of the campaign and will lift the iconic trophy after Sunday’s fixture against Crystal Palace. Regarding medals, these will be distributed amongst the management team, players and club officials at Arsenal‘s discretion. As stipulated by rule C.13 in the Premier League Handbook, Arsenal will receive 40 commemorative medals.
Any player who has made at least five Premier League appearances throughout the current campaign for the Gunners will be automatically entitled to receive one.
Further medals may be requested, though these require approval from the Premier League Board, and will only be awarded should more than 39 players have satisfied the five Premier League appearance criteria.
The Gunners currently have 24 squad members who have made five or more league appearances this season, including youngster Max Dowman, who has notched up exactly five.
He joins David Raya, Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice, Viktor Gyokeres, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Gabriel, Leandro Trossard, William Saliba, Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Odegaard, Piero Hincapie, Mikel Merino, Cristhian Mosquera, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel Jesus, Ben White, Kai Havertz, Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri.
Arsenal star Declan Rice took to Instagram to share a photograph alongside his team-mates, captioning it: “I told you all.. it’s done.”
Former manager Arsene Wenger, who guided the side to their last championship in 2004, appeared in a celebratory post from the Gunners on their X account.
He said: “You did it. Champions go on when others stop. This is your time. Now, go on and enjoy every moment.”
Gunners legend David Seaman, who made more than 400 appearances for Arsenal between 1990 and 2003, posted on X: “Premier League champions!!! What a moment!!! What a season!!!!!!!! EPIC!!!!!!!!!! Longest (22 years and ) three minutes of MY LIFE…”
Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who had Arteta alongside him as assistant during two of City’s Premier League title victories, offered his praise to his Arsenal counterpart.
He said: “We were close. On behalf of everyone at Manchester City, we congratulate Mikel and all the staff, players and fans on winning the Premier League. They deserve it, for so much hard work and effort.”
