A medieval city that will transport you into Harry Potter’s world at Hogwarts is merely 51 minutes from London by train. Not only is it majestic and utterly enchanting, there’s an abundance of activities available – from picnics to riverside strolls. The destination receiving glowing reviews is Canterbury in east Kent.
This city is where centuries of heritage converge with quintessential English charm and you can effortlessly spend the entire day there without experiencing boredom.
A travel blogger recently journeyed to Kent where she documented her itinerary on TikTok for her 33,200 followers.
In the post, she started: “I can’t believe this is just 51 minutes from London. If you need a little escape, this is one of my favourite day trips from London.”
Her initial destination was the “impossibly pretty” Westgate Gardens where there’s plenty available. Subsequently she explored the Cathedral which is over 1,400 years old.
The structure is renowned for its magnificent architecture and stained glass windows. However, ensure you visit the cloisters which the travel blogger insisted resembles “you’re wandering the corridors of Hogwarts”.
You can additionally discover the cobbled streets, meandering canals, crooked buildings and antique shops.
