Major clothing chain to close all 15 stores as company confirms ‘it’s time to say goodbye’ | World | News

A clothing chain with 15 stores is set to close all its branches after launching major liquidation sales. Born Clothing announced on social media on Wednesday, April 22, that the time had come to “say goodbye”, after being in business for 16 years.

The beloved company, which operates across Ireland, will close all its branches only after launching a closing-down sale on Thursday, with discounts of up to 70%. Making the sad announcement in an Instagram post, the company said: “After 16 wonderful years in business, it’s time for us to say goodbye.

“We want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support over the years – for shopping with us, supporting us, and being part of our journey. It has meant more than we can ever put into words.”

The well-known company, which sells clothes from various clothing brands, went on to thank its staff, saying: “To our wonderful team, thank you for being the heart and soul of our business. Your loyalty and dedicated will always be appreciated.”

A notice on Born Clothing’s website states the company is in provisional liquidation, and because of this, gift vouchers cannot be accepted during the sales period, RSVPLive reports.

The notice also said that any items bought during the sales will have a 30-day refund or return policy, providing there is a valid reason for the refund or return and the customer has a valid liquidation sales customer receipt.

It also said: “As the company is in provisional liquidation, please note the following: no gift vouchers can be accepted during the liquidation sale, no returns of stock bought before the liquidation can be refunded, no credit note provided by the store before the liquidation can be accepted.

“Claims for refunds/return of stock/credit notes rank as unsecured claims in the liquidation. To submit a claim to the liquidation, please contact bornclothing@bdo.ie for further details.

“All Liquidation Sales allow for a 30 day refund/return policy in store, with reason and accompanying valid liquidation sale customer receipt. Any additional statuary rights remain unaffected. If the relevant store has closed, please contact bornclothing@bdo.ie for further details on how to seek a refund.”
