The 2026 Wimbledon draw has been completed, with the top tennis players now knowing their path to glory in SW19. The action from the All England Club gets underway next week, with two weeks of tennis drama set to follow.

Defending champion on the men’s singles side, Jannik Sinner, is hoping to fare better than the recent French Open, where he crashed out in the second round. Once again, the men’s draw is without Carlos Alcaraz, who continues to recover from a wrist injury.

Meanwhile, the reigning women’s singles champion, Swiatek, has also endured a difficult time of things, having lost her only match on grass in the build-up to Wimbledon. Aryna Sabalenka is aiming for his first-ever Wimbledon title, while it’s a welcome return for legend of the game Serena Williams.

She was handed a wildcard after announcing a surprise return from retirement earlier this year, and is sure to have plenty of eyes on her this summer. British hopes rest on the shoulders of Emma Raducanu, who enjoyed a stellar run to the final of Queen’s a couple of weeks ago, but has reportedly been nursing an injury ever since.

It’s a big tournament for Raducanu, given she’s defending a third-round appearance last year, and having struggled with some fitness issues herself earlier this year, could desperately do with a deep run. It all kicks off on Monday, but who is playing who?

Emma Raducanu handed nightmare draw at Wimbledon

That isn’t what Raducanu would’ve been hoping for. Ruzic isn’t the worst opening match in the world, but if she beats the world No.60, it will probably be a clash against former French Open winner Jeļena Ostapenko.

There’s a touch of deja vu with Raducanu’s draw, given a victory in round two would most likely see her come up against Aryna Sabalenka in round three. It’s the same stage where the two of them met last year, with Sabalenka defeating Raducanu, and it’s almost certain the world No.1 would be a heavy favourite if they were to face each other once again.

For the returning Williams, her first match is against Maya Joint – an up-and-coming Australian, who is ranked 50th in the world. A victory there and it would likely mean another clash against one of tennis’ prodigies, with Alexandra Eala her opponent, should she beat Renata Zarazua. Oh, and if Williams were to reach the fourth round, it would probably see her come up against defending champion Iga Swiatek.

Jack Draper given mammoth task in round one

How about that for a welcome back to the Grand Slam circuit for Jack Draper? Having slipped out of the seeded positions, the Brit has been drawn against sixth seed Taylor Fritz in round one.

The pair were both semi-finalists at the 2024 US Open a couple of years ago, but Draper hasn’t been able to kick on since then. He’s hoping after a string of injuries, this year’s Championships can be the catalyst he needs, but there are few tougher opening assignments in the world of tennis right now.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic – still searching for his 25th Grand Slam title – had a stroke of luck, despite being the seventh seed. The highest-ranked player in his mini-section of the draw is Arthur Rinderknech, with the Serb opening his campaign up against world No.99, Yibing Wu.

Of course, Sinner is the favourite, not least given Alcaraz is out with injury. But plenty of eyes will be on Alexander Zverev, fresh from his first-ever Grand Slam triumph. Can the German kick on and fulfil his potential?
