New BBC Wimbledon pundit turns heads immediately at SW19 | Tennis | Sport
Eugenie Bouchard has proved to be an immediate hit with tennis fans following her return to Wimbledon as a pundit. The 32-year-old has joined the BBC’s broadcasting team for the Championships and has swiftly captured attention during her time at SW19
Bouchard initially became a breakthrough star through her unexpected journey to the Wimbledon final in 2014. The Canadian was eventually defeated by Petra Kvitova but won many supporters with her performances at the All England Club.
While she officially stepped away from professional tennis last year, Bouchard has continued to make an impression at the Grand Slam. On social media, the new BBC pundit posted a series of photographs wearing an eye-catching white dress at the iconic tennis tournament, which garnered enthusiastic responses from her followers.
In her Instagram post, Bouchard shared multiple snaps of her outfit, with the caption: “hi @wimbledon”, alongside a white heart emoji. One social media user replied: “Oh my Gosh, really stunning, perfect.”
A second wrote: “Queen of Wimbledon.” A third responded: “You are breathtaking! !” A fourth fan said: “Beautiful as always.”
A fifth quipped: “She won the tournament already.” While another added: “Superb outfit and hair.”
Beyond the court, the Canadian ace secured several lucrative sponsorship deals after reaching the 2014 Wimbledon final. Bouchard has frequently posted glamorous photographs on social media and spoken openly about how sex appeal helped boost her profile.
“Tennis, first of all, is a great sport for that sex appeal side,” Bouchard told YouTuber Valeria Lipovetsky during a 2024 podcast episode. “We’re wearing short skirts, we’re wearing tank tops. It’s fun to turn on the TV and watch that.
“Right away I was able to get great marketing deals off the court. Being asked to be in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition a few times. Exploring that path was definitely on my to-do list. It’s definitely part of who I am because I think it’s great.”
Bouchard is embarking on a new chapter in her career following her decision to retire from tennis in July 2025, although she continues to compete professionally in pickleball and currently sits 12th in the PPA rankings. Upon arriving in England for her broadcasting job, the tennis star found herself battling the recent heatwave.
“I know there’s been a lot of US/Europe AC discourse recently and some think we’ve probably talked about it enough,” Bouchard posted on social media. “But I am here to tell you that we have NOT been in the UK less than 24 hours and I feel like I’m on an episode of Survivor.
“I brushed my teeth last night while sweating profusely, slept without any blankets and I normally run cold. Genuinely curious as to what the reason for this is. Who can enlighten me?”
Bouchard last featured in the Wimbledon main draw back in 2019 and also suffered defeat in qualifying three years ago. During her standout 2014 campaign, the Wimbledon finalist also reached the semifinals at both the Australian Open and the French Open.
