Liverpool‘s efforts to bolster their squad this summer have been relatively modest. The signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna represents the Reds’ sole venture into the transfer market thus far. The ongoing World Cup is undoubtedly proving a significant barrier for clubs seeking to conclude their business swiftly. Andoni Iraola is anticipated to assess his existing squad, though further arrivals appear likely.
In today’s news, one player linked with a switch to the Reds, who is presently shining at the World Cup, has been counselled to stay put at his current club. Meanwhile, an update regarding the future of former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who departed Anfield this summer, has come to light.
Salah transfer deal explored
Italian giants Roma and Juventus are thought to have sounded out the prospect of securing Salah’s signature this summer.
The winger remains the subject of ongoing speculation, particularly from Saudi Arabia where interest in the 34-year-old has persisted for some time.
The Mail have reported that Roma and Juventus are keen but may encounter a significant financial hurdle in attempting to bring the Egyptian star to Italy.
Salah is expected to command a significant wage wherever he goes this summer.
The United States has been mooted as a possible destination, while the report adds that clubs in Turkey also have interest.
Speaking ahead of the World Cup, Salah claimed his future would be resolved after the tournament.
“I am still assessing things,” he said. “I have time now. I am going to the World Cup and then everything will become clear.”

Bradley Barcola has been encouraged to reject the lure of a big-money transfer to Liverpool by former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly.
The ex-French international has advised the young winger to remain at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Liverpool have reportedly shifted their focus towards the wide man, with Yan Diomande said to favour a switch to PSG.
The European champions remain adamant they have no intention of parting with Barcola and value the 23-year-old at over £100million, with Arsenal also understood to be interested.
“Barcola doesn’t need to leave PSG,” said Desailly. “He’s too young. (France national team head coach) Didier Deschamps is teaching him a lesson and he’s giving him a chance.
“I thought that for Barcola to start and play 90 minutes at the international level, he wouldn’t do it because Barcola is too light on defensive discipline.
“Remember, we play with four offensive players, and bringing Barcola into the system could have been another weakness because he doesn’t make the effort to defend.
“When you look at his previous matches with PSG, or even some of the matches he did for the national team during the Euros, he had that weakness.
“He’s young; the attention and defensive alertness isn’t there to match the speed he projects when he’s going forward.
“He wasn’t making the effort to get back into position. So, should he move to the Premier League? Not yet. Not yet at all.
“Sorry Arsenal and Liverpool fans. He should stay at Paris Saint-Germain, play 25 games a season, and grow within that system.”
