Arthur Fery receives birthday gift from Princess Kate after magical Wimbledon run | Tennis | Sport

Arthur Fery was greeted by Princess Kate at Wimbledon and handed a birthday present on the final day of the 2026 Championships. Fery captured the imagination of the nation during his fairytale run to the Wimbledon semi-finals, having only qualified for the main draw via a wildcard.

Fery’s magical run was brought to an end by Alexander Zverev, who came up against Jannik Sinner in Sunday’s final. He had started the tournament ranked 114th in the world, but thanks to his exploits at the All England Club, Fery has rocketed up the standings and is now inside the top 40.

It’s also thrust him into the spotlight, and with the newfound fame and fortune came a meeting with the Princess of Wales. Fery was greeted by Catherine ahead of the gentlemen’s singles final on Sunday afternoon and even handed a birthday card by the Patron of the All England Club.

What’s more, Fery even offered to coach the Princess’ children, stating: “I mean, the princess came to my match in the second round, it was great to have her there and we spoke a little about that. It was good to see her here and good to meet her finally. She wished me good luck for the rest of the year and congratulated me for these two weeks.

“I know the whole family are all tennis fans, so I told her if her kids ever wanted to hit, I’m free. It would be good to see them again. Let’s see, I don’t know. Let’s see if I get the call up.”
