Arsenal can complete as many as six transfer deals just this week as the Gunners look to ramp up their business before the window closes at the end of the month. Just three new signings have been confirmed in Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier and Piero Hincapie’s loan being made permanent.

But that is all set to change very soon, with moves for both Vinicius Jr and Bruno Guimaraes gathering pace quickly. A first formal bid was launched on Monday for the Newcastle midfielder, which was rejected, while Arsenal are trying to pounce on dithering contract negotiations at Real Madrid for Vinicius Jr. Here, Express Sport looks at the deals they may finalise this week…

Newcastle captain Guimaraes is understood to be preparing for a medical ahead of a potential switch to Arsenal. The Brazil international has excelled in the Premier League since departing Lyon in January 2022 and would bring established quality to central midfield.

Arsenal sent a formal transfer offer, which was swiftly rejected by Newcastle, but talks are ongoing and the Gunners are optimistic of landing their man. Newcastle initially demanded £100m for their skipper, but there is a feeling a deal could be done for a fee between £70-80m.

A vacancy will emerge in the Arsenal squad for Guimaraes as Norgaard nears a switch to Everton. The 32-year-old arrived from Brentford last summer but managed just 11 starts across 20 appearances.

Everton are poised to sign the experienced midfielder for £7m. Manager David Moyes is understood to be eager to bring the Dane into his squad, with the transfer also enabling Arsenal to accommodate Guimaraes in midfield.

Arsenal are pursuing a move for Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior as the Gunners aim to build upon last season’s title-winning campaign. The 26-year-old has entered the final year of his contract, prompting speculation regarding his future.

While Real Madrid have held discussions with the winger over fresh terms, Los Blancos are reportedly unwilling to increase their offer and are open to selling Vinicius Jr if no agreement can be reached. Real Madrid’s stance could assist Arsenal’s pursuit of the forward, who scored 22 goals in 53 games last season.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Torres as the Gunners seek to bolster their attacking options. Spain international Torres has already had an unforgettable summer, scoring the only goal in the World Cup final to clinch the iconic trophy.

Spanish outlet Sport claims Arsenal are amongst the English clubs to have enquired about the 26-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid. Similar to Vinicius, Torres is in the final year of his contract, though Barcelona wish to agree a new deal.

Vieira is one of a number of peripheral players who could help increase Arsenal’s transfer war chest before the window closes. The 26-year-old has been with the Gunners since 2022 but has spent the past two campaigns away on loan.

Hamburg and Arsenal are reportedly in discussions regarding a permanent transfer. It is understood that Vieira is hopeful an agreement can be reached between the two clubs, having made 31 appearances during his recent loan stint.

Gabriel Jesus is another Arsenal figure who could depart this summer. The former Manchester City forward has fewer than 12 months left on his deal and finds himself competing with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz for a place in Arteta’s starting line-up.

Arsenal have reportedly placed a valuation of between £18m and £20m on Jesus, with the striker attracting interest from AC Milan. The 29-year-old featured in 27 matches for the Gunners last season, making nine starts and netting six goals.
