Arsenal injury latest for Champions League final after Jurrien Timber update | Football | Sport

Mikel Arteta has delivered the latest injury update on his Arsenal squad ahead of this weekend’s Champions League final. The Gunners face reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday evening. Victory for Arsenal would round off what has already been an extraordinary season.

Arteta’s men have been revelling in their Premier League title triumph, having collected the trophy at Selhurst Park last weekend. Attention will now turn firmly towards the showdown against PSG. The squad have already made their way to Hungary and are putting the finishing touches to their preparations for the match. With that in mind, here is the very latest from the treatment room as Arsenal bid to have as many players fit and available as possible.

Arteta confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Timber is fit to start. The full-back had travelled with the Arsenal squad to Budapest, raising hopes that he would be able to play a part.

The goalkeeper sat out the final Premier League fixture of the season against Crystal Palace with a back, glute and shoulder complaint. He is, however, expected to be fit and available for the Champions League final.

The winger sustained the injury on the final day of the season against Palace, though it has been reported that he was withdrawn as a precaution. Arteta said at the PSG press conference that the England international is fine.

White suffered a serious knee injury during the victory over West Ham United, bringing his season to an untimely end.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” said Arteta previously.

“It looks like a long-term injury, so at the moment, the focus is on when we can have him back available for Arsenal. And that’s not going to happen for many, many weeks.”
