Avengers Doomsday first look at epic cast with Robert Downey Jr Doom and X-Men | Films | Entertainment

This Christmas, the epic follow-up to Avengers Endgame hits cinemas with Robert Downey Jr returning to Marvel as the villainous Doctor Doom for a multiverse crossover. I was lucky enough to catch the first trailer back in April, which is yet to be released. But now the Avengers Doomsday first look has been revealed, showcasing official concept art of the main cast, as spotted at Shanghai Expo.

Front and centre is Downey’s Doom with his mask on, with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor returning to a more serious Avengers Infinity War look with short hair and wielding Stormbreaker. Meanwhile, Chris Evans is somehow back as a young Steve Rogers, sporting long hair and a beard, again much like in Infinity War. And just like Endgame, he’s still found worthy to hold Mjolnir.

Alongside Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Falcon, Ant-Man, Bruce Banner, Shang-Chi, Shuri’s Black Panther and King M’Baku are three major MCU superhero teams. There’s the New Avengers (formerly Thunderbolts), the Fantastic Four and the original 2000s X-Men cast, joined by Channing Tatum’s Gambit. But there’s one character who fans might have missed on this poster.

Right at the centre is Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, the God of Stories, who has been ruling the multiverse’s branching realities out of the Sacred Timeline since the end of Loki season 2. Noticeably missing are Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, while Deadpool and Wolverine are heavily rumoured to feature.

Avengers Doomsday hits cinemas on December 18, 2026.
