Brit orders cooked breakfast in pub and is shocked by bill
There’s nothing quite like a Full English Breakfast to start your weekend in the best way possible.
From thick rashers of bacon to salty sausages, hash browns, beans, and more, each element of the plate compliments the rest to make one of the best breakfasts going.
But how much would you be willing to pay for one at your local pub?
Villagers are up in arms after The Cow Shed in Ospringe, near Faversham, Kent, started charging £25 for the meal – which can often be found in greasy spoons for as little as £5.
However, you do get a bit more for your money than with most fry-ups as it’s an all-you-can-eat deal, and the meal promises “unlimited deliciousness,” according to bosses.
But this hasn’t stopped locals from raging about the hefty price tag, as people cannot seem to believe that a quarter of a hundred pounds should be spent on a meal like this.
One local joked that he would need to set up a GoFundMe to cover the bill, remarking that two people getting a breakfast would cost a whopping £50.
Damien joked: “Someone has been smoking crack. No breakfast is worth £25, even if it is unlimited. This is Faversham, not Mayfair.”
One woman, Gem, added: “There would have to be bottomless prosecco [included] to justify that price tag”.
Others had far higher expectations, saying that someone would have to cook them “breakfast every day for a week for £25” and slamming the price as “ridiculous.”
“Wow, £25, that’s a bit steep”, another added.
There is also another Cow Shed in nearby Birchington.
Every Saturday and Sunday, little ones under five eat free and kids under 12 can eat at half the price of £12.50.
Not everybody was put off by the price tag either, with someone saying they “can’t wait” to try the breakfast, as the “quality is always amazing”, saying it’s a “great idea” to offer unlimited breakfast.
The restaurant has predominantly rave reviews online. One user rated the breakfast as “delicious” on TripAdvisor.
Another user, Laurence, said: “Visited on New Year’s Day for breakfast. This is not our first time here and we returned knowing we would have – 1. A warm welcome from great staff 2. Good quality food at a reasonable price 3. Great location – just 5 mins off the A2 4. Fantastic range and choice. We will be back again when in Kent next.’
