Diomande transfer latest amid Liverpool meetings as Olise stance made clear | Football | Sport
Liverpool have little time to wait before the summer transfer window opens and they can venture into the market for fresh signings. Anticipation is mounting that the Reds could once again enjoy a busy summer as they look to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title once more.
Arne Slot’s side currently occupy fifth place and face a test to secure Champions League qualification for next season.
Liverpool are already aware they will be without Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson next term, with the pair having confirmed they will depart the club when the current campaign draws to a close.
What plans Liverpool have in store for the summer transfer window remains to be seen, with a number of players already being linked with moves to Anfield, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Here, Express Sport casts an eye over some of the most recent Liverpool transfer rumours to have surfaced over the past 24 hours.
Yan Diomande update
Liverpool have reportedly already entered into discussions regarding a potential move for RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande. The Reds have been credited with an interest in the player, who is said to be valued at around £87million.
According to Sport Bild, the Reds have already held meetings with Leipzig over the 19-year-old’s future, as have reigning Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.
The report suggests that Leipzig are firmly intent on retaining Diomande beyond this summer, and will not entertain offers unless a figure surpassing their asking price is tabled. Leipzig are keen to offer Diomande fresh terms, but it has been reported that discussions over an extension have been put on hold until the summer, with the teenager’s existing deal running until 2030.
Michael Olise stance
Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl has addressed speculation surrounding Michael Olise’s future. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Olise in recent months.
Olise has been touted as a target for Liverpool ever since Salah confirmed his summer departure from Anfield, with the former Crystal Palace winger mentioned as a possible successor.
Eberl has now responded to the speculation surrounding Olise’s future with a clear message about the Bayern forward.
“We have our bubble, we have confidence in our discussions, and we’re letting everything that’s happening around us bounce off us to some extent,” Eberl said, via Sport.de.
He added: “First of all, it’s great that so many people want to talk about Michael Olise. That says, first of all, that we lured a very, very good player to FC Bayern a year and three-quarters ago.”
