Donald Trump threatens to hit Iran ‘even harder’ in chilling warning | World | News
Donald Trump has threatened to hit Iran “even harder” and get a “little bit nasty” as he continued to pile pressure on the country to agree to a peace deal. The US President said he wants to see “a few people killed as opposed to a lot”, but warned that “we can do it either way”.
He said: “We’ll see what happens. Either have a deal or we’re going to do some things that are a little bit nasty, but hopefully that won’t happen. We’re going to give this one shot. I’m in no hurry.” Mr Trump maintained that the deal would “not let Iran have a nuclear weapon”, and if the regime refuses, “we may have to hit them even harder”.
This comes after Iran’s military force threatened the US that it would “extend the war beyond the region” should there be any further attacks on its country amid the fragile ceasefire.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard angrily said it was responding to threats by “the American-Zionist enemy” following warnings from Mr Trump and JD Vance that they may resume military strikes if peace talks collapse once again.
It added: “We did not deploy the full capacity of the Islamic Revolution against them.
“But now, if aggression against Iran is repeated, the regional war that was promised, this time, it will extend beyond the region, and our crushing blows in places you can’t imagine will reduce you to ashes.”
The terms were laid out by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, who called for the lifting of sanctions on Tehran, the release of frozen funds, and an end to the marine blockade on the country.
He also urged the US to end the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, remove US forces from areas close to Iran, and cover the costs of the destruction caused by the war.
Pakistan shared the new peace plan with the US on Monday, according to a source speaking with Reuters.
