Chelsea are bracing themselves for yet another shake-up during the summer transfer window. The Blues have endured a wretched season that could ultimately see the club fall short of European qualification. As the Chelsea hierarchy deliberate over who will become the next permanent manager, several players face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge.
The appointment of a new boss, coupled with summer recruits, will inevitably reshape Chelsea‘s squad considerably. Interim manager Calum McFarlane is due to oversee the club’s remaining four fixtures of the campaign, including the FA Cup final. Yet eight players may have already featured in a Chelsea shirt for the very last time.
Here’s a look at each one and what may happen next…
Garnacho has endured a disappointing debut season at Chelsea. The winger arrived from Manchester United and has displayed glimpses of genuine quality but failed to maintain any consistent form.
He has already been linked with a departure in the summer transfer window. Interim boss McFarlane handed the Argentina international a starting berth in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Leeds, but Garnacho missed the recent loss to Nottingham Forest through injury and could find himself fighting to reclaim his place before the season’s conclusion.
Robert Sanchez/Filip Jorgensen
The goalkeeping position at Chelsea has been firmly resolved this term. Sanchez has started 33 league matches, forcing Jorgensen to settle for a backup role.
Sanchez has encountered criticism since arriving from Brighton in 2023, while Jorgensen has likewise struggled to impress when handed chances. The Denmark international recently came on for an injured Sanchez against Forest for his fourth league outing of the season.
It is yet to be determined which of the duo will retain their position until the end of the campaign. Nevertheless, Chelsea’s incoming manager may desire to bring in a new goalkeeper upon taking charge at the club, which would force at least one of the shot-stoppers to seek a transfer elsewhere.
Jackson secured a loan switch to Bayern Munich last summer. The striker found himself relegated down the hierarchy following both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap’s signings for the Blues.
He has been the obvious second option behind Harry Kane throughout his spell in Munich, netting 10 goals in 31 matches.
While Bayern are not intending to make his arrangement permanent, it seems unlikely that Jackson would choose to battle his way back into Chelsea’s plans next season.

The defender has been an outstanding performer for West Ham United since moving from his parent club in January. He found himself excluded from the Chelsea squad earlier this season after failing to engineer a departure last summer.
While West Ham may be keen to retain Disasi should they secure their top-flight status, his displays could also draw attention from a number of other clubs.
The academy product could find his opportunities increasingly restricted should he return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
He has also struggled for playing time since joining Everton on loan in February, yet there would be no shortage of potential suitors in the transfer market.
Fofana is currently embarking on his fifth loan spell away from Chelsea since arriving at the club in 2023.
The 23-year-old, who made four appearances for the Blues during his maiden season, joined Strasbourg in February and will in all likelihood not feature in Chelsea’s plans for the campaign ahead.
Mudryk has been serving a doping ban since December 2024. He is currently appealing his four-year suspension and his case is understood to have been sent to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023, making 73 appearances for the club.
