Emirates issues new update for passengers travelling to Dubai before May 31 | World | News


The world’s largest international airline, Emirates, has issued an update to travellers with trips booked between February 28 and May 31. The airline published a travel advisory on April 29 for people worried about their travel plans being possibly affected by the Middle East crisis. While currently operating to over 100 destinations, passengers have been urged to continue checking their flight status, even after checking in.

The company gave two options to customers with affected flights planned until and including May 31.

  • Rebook on an alternate flight, either to the same destination or another destination in the same region on or before 15 June. You can make changes on Manage Your Booking or on the Emirates App if your original travel date is within the next 72 hours. If you booked your flight with a travel agent, you must contact them. If you booked with Emirates directly, you should contact the airline.
  • Request a refund. You can request for a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form if you booked with Emirates directly. If you booked your flights with a travel agent, you should contact them.

To provide further peace of mind, any travellers who have booked flights after April 2 have been offered one free date change, across all cabins.

The airline is currently operating at 65% of its full capacity, according to Tim Clark, the president of Emirates.

Emirates also stated that it is continuing to monitor the situation and will develop its operational schedule accordingly. Make sure your details are kept up to date to receive notifications.
