Middle-distance icon Keely Hodgkinson is poised for a financial windfall after joining a new agency. Hodgkinson, who was crowned Sports Personality of the Year in 2024, joins an impressive roster of sporting talent represented by WME Sports. Fellow British stars Emma Raducanu and Lewis Hamilton are amongst its most prominent names, alongside two-time Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz.

“WME Sports is proud to announce the signing of Keely Hodgkinson,” the agency wrote in an Instagram post confirming the signing. “Keely is the reigning Olympic 800m champion, having claimed Gold at the Paris 2024 Games. The 24-year-old is also a World Champion, European Champion and World Indoor Champion. Welcome to the family, Keely!”

According to The Times, the fresh arrangement could help the athlete, 24, significantly enhance her earning power. Her company, Runway Pro, established following the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, saw its assets rise to £1.3million in 2025.

This remains some distance from the wealth enjoyed by 2021 US Open champion Raducanu. The tennis star’s Harbour 6 company reported profits of £9.6m in the year ending March 2023, with the figure climbing further the following year.

According to SportsPro, Hodgkinson is already believed to earn around £1m annually through a range of endorsement deals. In addition to serving as a Nike ambassador in the UK, she represents Avene, Omega and Vitality.

On the track, she has remained firmly at the pinnacle of her preferred distance despite suffering injury setbacks along the way. Having followed her Tokyo silver with a pair of European titles, the Manchester athlete secured her first Olympic gold in Paris in 2024.

She has burst into the 2026 indoor season in scintillating fashion, shaving a second off the 800m world indoor record before cruising to glory at the World Indoor Championships in Torun.

The outdoor 800m world record stands as the longest-standing in athletics, with nobody able to surpass the 1:53.28 time set by Jarmila Kratochvilova in 1983, yet Hodgkinson has firmly set her sights on it.

“I am so excited to build on this, my word for this year was domination, I want global domination and this is a great way to start,” she said following her World Indoor gold. “We have a very exciting summer with the European Championships and everything else.

“I have said for the last couple of years that breaking the world record is possible and I wouldn’t have said that if I didn’t have evidence in training or seen things where I’m like, ‘Yeah, I can do it.’ A lot has to come together for that to happen and there is no timeframe in when or where or whatever.”

Hodgkinson’s 800m personal best of 1:54.61 is a British record. She ranks as the sixth-fastest woman in history over that distance, with three of those superior times having been recorded during the 1980s.
