Emma Willis credits under £30 M&S range for age-defying skin at 50
Since turning 50 earlier this year, everyone has been desperate to know just what presenter Emma Willis’ secret to her age-defying complexion really is. And now, the new Strictly Come Dancing host has revealed her line-free, radiant skin is down to an affordable high-street skincare line.
Emma is the new face of Marks and Spencer’s skincare range, Formula. She says she adores the collection because it doesn’t “overcomplicate skincare”. And what’s more is that it doesn’t break the bank either, with prices from £12, with nothing over the £30 mark.
The television icon added: “We’ve all heard the buzzwords, but most people just want to know what something does and whether it works. Formula takes genuinely advanced science and explains it in a way that feels simple and approachable. It’s skincare you don’t need a PhD for – just brilliant ingredients, proven results and products that fit into real life.”
According to Hello!, Emma is a devotee of The Ultra Peptide Eye Cream (£20), because it ‘doesn’t sting’, reports the Mirror. The cream is enriched with caffeine – which can help reduce under-eye puffiness – alongside niacinamide for intense hydration.
Further ingredients include line-smoothing bakuchiol and advanced peptides, to ‘support collagen stimulation for firmer-looking skin’. Emma Willis isn’t the only admirer of this eye cream, either, with M&S reporting that 93% of users agreed that the eye area looked smoother after first use.
It’s also not the only product the presenter has fallen for within the Formula collection. She also revealed to Hello! that she has been regularly applying The Ultra Peptide Neck and Décolletage Cream (£22) to tackle what she describes as her ‘crepey neck’. This nourishing cream is designed to be used on the décolletage, neck and face morning and/or night.
Hydration is at the forefront, with key ingredients such as shea butter and blackcurrant seed oil, delivering a ‘non-greasy finish’. Much like the eye cream, it features advanced peptides to stimulate collagen production, which is essential for plump, youthful-looking skin.
As an alternative eye cream, shoppers may wish to consider the Anua PDRN Caffeine Rejuvenating Eye Cream, available at Boots for £16.20 (reduced from £18). This formula harnesses caffeine to tackle dark circles, alongside PDRN to encourage collagen production.
For those seeking a different moisturiser, LookFantastic stocks the Innisfree Green Tea Ceramide Cream for £25. It is described as a ‘nourishing moisturiser’ suited to dry and sensitive skin, incorporating green tea-derived ceramides to help soothe any redness.
These latest additions to the M&S Formula collection are brand-new, meaning there are currently no reviews available online for The Ultra Peptide Eye Cream or The Ultra Peptide Neck and Décolletage Cream. Nevertheless, shoppers have already shared their opinions on other products within the Formula range.
While the Restore and Nourish Firming Night Cream 50ml is presently sold out, it offers a valuable glimpse into how customers have responded to the Formula products. One shopper described it as ‘a good product’, adding: “I have used this range for quite some time now and find it to be very good. My skin is certainly well nourished.”
Another shopper commented: “I enjoy using the Formula products. My ageing skin feels soft and smells lovely.”
While a third added: “I have been using Formula face creams for ages and thought I would try the extra firming night cream. It is fantastic, very smooth and feels really luxurious. Not only that, it is really good value for money.”
Nevertheless, skincare remains deeply individual. One customer noted as part of a lengthier review: “It does feel luxurious and creamy, hence 4 stars, but a bit too rich for my skin.”
Another commented: “Lightweight cream, but wish it was not scented. Although the fragrance is light and pleasant, I would prefer odourless for a night-time product.”
Both The Ultra Peptide Eye Cream and The Ultra Peptide Neck and Décolletage Cream can be purchased from M&S.
