Massive File Declassification: The Trump administration has unsealed a new batch of 222 UFO files as part of an ongoing transparency initiative. This release follows an initial wave of disclosures earlier in May, driven by a 2022 congressional directive requiring the Pentagon to declassify decades of reports on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP).
Historic New Mexico Sightings: Among the unsealed documents are details of at least 209 sightings of green orbs, discs, and fireballs recorded between 1948 and 1950. Witnesses reported seeing these strange phenomena manoeuvring erratically, flying out of sight, suddenly disappearing, or even exploding in the skies.
Nuclear Base Proximity: The historical sightings primarily occurred near a sensitive military installation in Sandia, New Mexico. At the time, the base operated under the Armed Forces Special Weapons Program, a direct Manhattan Project successor tasked with overseeing the military aspects of America’s nuclear weapons, intensifying the intrigue surrounding the accounts.
Declassified Multimedia Evidence: The broader release spans a diverse mix of historical FBI records, State Department cables, and NASA transcripts, alongside more than 20 video files. The footage captures unexplained objects caught by military sensors worldwide, including a fast-moving, American-football-shaped object spotted over the East China Sea in 2022.
The Debate on Origins: US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth noted that the files are being released on a rolling basis so the American public can evaluate the evidence themselves. While the records fuel speculation, the Pentagon’s UAP office maintains that it has found no verifiable evidence linking these phenomena to extraterrestrial technology.
